We spoke with other folks later about the dolphin swim and found they were a bit disappointed. As expected, the sea lions are not as popular as the dolphin swim and so our group consisted of my husband and I, the two trainers, and the two sea lions "Marina" and "Shana." GREAT fun and a lot of personalized attention. The 45 min boat trip to Las Caletas was also bumpy and we noticed a number of folks suffering from a bit of sea sickness, so take your Dramamine! We felt very fortunate that we chose the Sea Lion encounter at the Dolphin Center. the Jeep Safari is bumpy !! If you have any back or neck issues, it may not be a good idea. We also made plenty of restroom stops, especially when requested, and they made sure to find bathrooms that were "civilized" as they put it. The food included in the excursions was excellent, and they always had bottled water available for us. Extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and FUN !!! Those folks like to have a good time and want to ensure that you do too !! We are nature and history buffs and really loved all of the stories and info provided by the tour guides. We were VERY impressed with Vallarta Adventures and all of the staff. the Jeep Safari, Rhythm of the Nights dinner at Las Caletas, Road Trip to San Sebastian, and Sea Lion Encounter. During our week, we attended four Vallarta Adventures activities. We had a fun time and we would recommend it. a great buffet, tequila samples, photos in sombreros, rope tricks, horse tricks, folkloric dancing (lovely), mariachi (great), pinata, and fireworks. the "Mexican Fiesta" at La Iguana Restaurante in downtown PV. That evening we enjoyed one of the free "goodies". (We have a review of that hotel and the sales presentation separately.) We were treated to a great buffet breakfast and was invited to come back later in the week to enjoy their beach, pool, and restaurant. The next day's presentation took place at the Flamingos Villa del Palmar in Nuevo Vallarta. Exhausted and a bit overwhelmed by the onslaught, we ate and fell into bed. we agreed and finally made it to our room. They then offered to exceed the "goodies" offered by the other compaay and repay the $20.00 we left if we would attend their presentation instead. We finally spilled the whole story and, of course, they began to explain that we had been deceived by the sales pitch. After checking in at Villa del Palmar, the staff questioned us about being approached at the airport by various timeshare companies. we caved, got the details for the next day, and got a taxi to the hotel. They then asked for $20.00 to reserve a spot at the presentation, which they would return afterwards. if we agreed to attend their presentation the next day. We assumed she represented a taxi company but, in fact, she worked for a timeshare and we were well into the sales pitch before we realized it. ![]() (We have a review of the hotel separately.) Immediately off the plane in the airport as we looked for transportation, we were approached by a young woman who asked if we were looking for a taxi. We went as a guest of a timeshare company in Colorado and so stayed at the Villa del Palmar near downtown Puerto Vallarta. My husband's and my first trip to Puerto Vallarta was, in short, GREAT! Here are some details that may help others traveling there for the first time. Except for the food ( I have to order out for them a couple of times) I would say this is was a fun week, but I would not pay all inclusive again. Our kids are 18, 17 and 11 and they all enjoyed it. ![]() The pool is lovely, not as big as other hotels, but again the Activities staff (Darve, Martin, Maggie, William, Omar etc, made all the diference for us and my three daughters. Even before your finish your drinking, there he is with your refill. I was right in front of the pacific ocean and the only fish they served for seven consecutive days lunch and dinner was "Mahi Mahi" The bartender at the lobby bar (Fermin) really goes out his way. Everyone including "the 3 capitanas" (Bell Captains) goes out its way to offer the service and that makes you return regardless of the fact that you knew that you were eating the same food. You are your family will feel at home with the Activities staff and every staff member in the dinning room is trying very hard to make up for the poor quality of the food in this hotel. It was the mexican people working 10 and 12 hours shifts that made the time so lovely for us. This was our third trip to Mexico and second to Vallarta and we have never experienced such incredible service before. The hotel is a small hotel, but what it is laking in size and amenities, is replace by the quality of the staff. We have just returned from a week at theSamba Vallarta Hotel. ![]()
